So many studies have been conducted about the reason of the emergence of the Islamic revolution and the collapse of Pahlavi regime based on miscellaneous theoretical views and frameworks. In this study, on basis of Talcott-Parsons Functional structuralism theory, the relationship among the function of pattern maintenance, school and the collapse of Pahlavi regime will be analyzed. Through stating three patterns of culturalism, Iranism and Westernism at Pahlavi time, and with analysis of Farsi (Persian) text books of the first until fifth grades in the elementary school of the time of the second Pahlavi, and slogans and graffiti at the time of the Islamic revolution, the researcher has analyzed the orientation of Pahlavi regime and the revolutionary people towards the three stated patterns and has come to the conclusion that the regime has not been successful in pattern maintenance via political sociability through “school” and “textbook” agents. Henceforth, due to the creation of imbalance and emergence of value conflicts between the governing state and people, the Islamic revolution happened and the previous regime has collapsed.
