Journal Article 2024 08 19 The confrontation between Iran and the United States is the most important aspect of the foreign policy of the Islamic Republic, so that the consequences of this confrontation have also affected regional and global equations. In this regard, this article analyzes and evaluates Stephen Walt's threat balance theory with the aim of applying a proportional theory to understand the causes of the conflict between these two countries.<br><br>The main question raised in this article is that according to the theory of balance of threats, what are the reasons for creating and intensifying the confrontation between Iran and America? The findings of the research, which were obtained by descriptive and analytical methods, show that all four components of creating a threat, which were proposed by Walt, were present in the relations between Iran and the United States, and therefore, the confrontation between these two countries in the form of the application of the aforementioned theory. Before analysis and justification. تقابل میان ایران و امریکا، مهم ترین وجه سیاست خارجی جمهوری اسلامی است به نحوی که عواقب این تقابل، معادلات منطقه ای و جهانی را نیز تحت تاثیر قرار داده است. در این راستا مقاله حاضر با هدف به کارگیری یک تئوری متناسب برای فهم علل مناقشه میان این دو کشور، نظریه توازن تهدید استفن والت را مورد تحلیل و ارزیابی قرار می دهد. <br><br>پرسش اصلی که در این نوشتار مطرح می شود آن است که با توجه به نظریه توازن تهدید، علل ایجاد و تشدید تقابل سیلسی میان ایران و امریکا چیست؟ یافته های تحقیق که با روش توصیفی و تحلیلی به دست آمده اند نشان می دهد که هر چهار مولفه ایجاد تهدید که توسط والت مطرح شده است، در روابط ایران و امریکا وجود داشته و از این رو تقابل این دو کشور در قالب کاربست تئوری مذکور، قبال تحلیل و توجیه است.<br><br>کلمات کلیدی: موازنه تهدید، امنیت، نیات تهاجمی، قدرت نظامی، نفوذ. http://sm.psas.ir/article_718599_956266c724d185e4a41b2a24411bce75.pdf
