Social solidarity in contemporary Iran is directly linked to religious cohesion, particularly given the presence of Sunni communities along border regions and their social extensions into neighboring countries. These factors, coupled with developmental disparities in these areas, pose challenges for the Islamic system. Since the establishment of the Islamic Republic of Iran, there have been periods marked by active religious schisms, exemplified by the emergence of terrorist groups like Jundallah. This study, centered on the question, "What are the strategies for strengthening religious cohesion in Iran?" focuses on analyzing religious cohesion. Data were collected through interviews with seven domain experts and analyzed using grounded theory methodology. Findings indicate that factors promoting religious cohesion include authentic Islamic principles based on Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) teachings, the overall efficacy of the system, and the supra-sectarian nature of the Islamic system. Conversely, factors undermining cohesion encompass adversarial efforts to disrupt religious unity, systemic inefficiencies in peripheral regions, uneven development, and weaknesses in distributive justice. Based on these findings, several strategies are proposed, notably: establishing the hegemony of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) culture, expanding the discourse on Islamic civilization-building, combating ignorance and extremism, increasing Sunni participation in managerial roles, and preventing the scientific and financial dependence of domestic Sunni communities on foreign entities.
