One of the most influential Islamic movements in Egypt and several other Islamic countries is the Jamāʿat
al-Ikhwān al-Muslimīn (Muslim Brotherhood). This group, as the most organized religious and political institution in the Arab world, was established at a time when Egypt was experiencing a critical political, social, religious, and economic situation, and it created considerable impacts across the Arab world. One of the most significant missions of the Ikhwān al-Muslimīn is confronting the system of domination and resisting colonialism and global arrogance. The idea of resistance, rooted in the Noble Qurʾān and the sīrah (prophetic practice) of the Prophet Muḥammad in opposition to the polytheists and enemies of Islam, has in the contemporary era attracted attention from various Islamic scholars and groups. Different perspectives have been presented regarding its foundations and components. Hence, the central question of the present study is: How has the cultural-civil resistance paradigm of the Ikhwān influenced its struggle/confrontation with global arrogance? The research method is descriptive-analytical. The findings indicate that the Ikhwān al-Muslimīn emphasized the cultural and civil dimensions of resistance, addressing it in various fields including individual, social, political, economic, and military aspects.
