The purpose of this study is to examine the role of wisdom in the realization of the ideal society in Surah
Al-Asr. This study utilizes a combination of rational and narrative methods, with a collective and objectivist approach. The role of wisdom in the realization of the ideal society is analyzed through the interpretation of Surah Al-Asr. The findings reveal that wisdom is divided into two parts: theoretical and practical. Theoretical wisdom is manifested in theological insights that possess a dynamic and pragmatic spirit, referred to as faith. True faith always encompasses righteous deeds and is oriented towards happiness, with the complete realization of worldly happiness for human society found in the ideal society. Practical wisdom is observed in the management of individual actions (ethics) and collective actions (family and society). Each of these types plays a significant role in the path to realizing the ideal society. The actualization of individual ethics and moral action stems from true faith. If the members of society possess ethical virtues and abstain from vices, the ideal society will be realized. The ideal society consists of families managed by individuals with true faith. The happiness of society, exemplified in the ideal society, results from the policies and governance of the leader of the society. The leader represents the utmost embodiment of the integration of theoretical and practical wisdom in the pursuit of the ideal society. In Surah Al-Asr, "Asr" symbolizes the ideal society. Faith, righteous deeds, enjoining truth, and enjoining patience are practical means to achieve the ideal society. Faith and truth are examples of theoretical wisdom, while righteous deeds and patience are examples of practical wisdom. The juxtaposition of these concepts, their logical analysis, and the collective application of the pronouns and verbs in "tawāṣaw" (enjoining) signify the collective teachings of this Surah, based on the utilization of theoretical and practical wisdom, aimed at achieving collective happiness (the ideal society).
